There has certainly been a lot of excitement lately around bitcoin. And if you were one of the lucky ones who purchased bitcoin at the right price, you’d be sitting on a pretty nice-sized fortune right now. But how should you treat bitcoin today? Should it be in your portfolio? Discover the answers to these questions in today’s post.
Below are three, very short articles (2 from Dimensional Fund Advisors and 1 from Vanguard) that encompass my belief that bitcoin should not be in your portfolio at this time. It’s fine to invest in blockchain technology, but bitcoin currency is a different story.
If you still wish to purchase it, my recommendation is to do so in a “fun-money account” (an account where you can afford to lose everything), not in your “serious-money accounts”. Hope you enjoy the articles. I look forward to hearing any feedback you have.
