Throughout the week, I run across articles written by other people that may be of interest to you. This week, there are two articles I’d like to highlight.
The first is an article written by David Booth, founder of Dimensional Fund Advisors. He discusses the importance of having a defined investment philosophy and sticking with it. Knowing how you will react, ahead of time, in good times and bad is the key to success.
The second is an article written by Karen Demasters in Financial Advisor Magazine, titled “Don’t Trust Social Security Agents’ Claiming Advice”. At our firm, we’ve actually seen this be true. Recently a client of ours went to the Social Security office to discuss a unique claiming strategy that we recommended to her, but they told her she could not do it. But of course they were wrong!!
